Card Condition Guide

The condition language we use, and what it actually means.

Every raw single is inspected by hand before it is listed. Every slab is verified against the grading company's population report.

Raw singles

We use the collector-standard scale for ungraded cards.

NM

Near Mint

Sharp corners, clean edges, no visible surface wear at arm's length. Minor factory imperfections may be present. This is the default condition we list singles in unless otherwise stated.

LP

Lightly Played

Very light handling wear — a small edge nick, faint whitening on a corner, or a light scuff on the surface. Still displays beautifully in a sleeve.

MP

Moderately Played

Noticeable wear such as edge whitening, minor scratches or gentle creasing. Fully playable and honestly described in the listing.

HP

Heavily Played

Significant wear — heavier creases, scratches, edge or corner damage. We rarely list cards in this condition and always with detailed photos.

Graded slabs

We stock cards graded by PSA, BGS and CGC — the three most widely recognised grading companies.

PSA 10 / BGS 10 / CGC 10

Gem Mint. The highest grade a card can receive from each grading company. Considered flawless on inspection under magnification.

PSA 9 / BGS 9.5 / CGC 9.5

Mint. Extremely clean cards with only a minor imperfection preventing a perfect grade.

PSA 8 / BGS 9 / CGC 9

Near Mint / Mint. Very well preserved cards with light imperfections visible on close inspection.

PSA 7 and below

Older or well-loved cards where condition is a secondary consideration to rarity or nostalgia. Always inspect the photos.
