How we verify every Pokémon card
A six-step process, first-hand, on every card we buy or list.
- Provenance check
Every card is checked against known reprint runs, misprints and counterfeit tells before it's listed.
- Print-line verification
We compare rosette patterns, back-print alignment and edge cut against a verified reference copy.
- UV and jeweller's loupe
Foils, holos and full-arts are inspected under UV and 10× loupe for reprint patterns and edge damage.
- Photographic record
Every card £75+ gets a dated photo record kept on file for our records and yours.
- Grading company cross-check
PSA, Ace and CGC slabs are cross-referenced against the issuer's public census by cert number.
- Final QC before dispatch
Card sleeved, top-loaded, checked once more against listing photos, boxed and posted tracked.
FAQs
Do you sell reproductions or proxies?
No — never. If we ever suspect a card is a reproduction it's returned to the seller and never listed.
What happens if a card fails verification?
For anything we've bought, the seller is contacted immediately and refunded. For anything already listed, we pull the listing and refund any buyer in full.
Do you use third-party authentication?
For high-value modern chase cards we send to PSA before listing. For older cards we use our internal process backed by cross-referenced comps.
